Parasites can be an overlooked and often misunderstood topic. Many people are unaware of their prevalence and impact on health. In this report we teamed up with Herbalist Michael McCammon from NZ Herbals and we'll debunk the top myths about parasites and provide practical advice on how to get rid of them.

Myth #1: Parasites Are Only Found in Developing Countries
While it's true that people often pick up parasites from visiting developing countries, there are over 100 varieties of parasites that affect human beings in New Zealand and infected individuals are extremely common. Many species of parasites show no socioeconomic boundaries and may be found as commonly in the city dweller as on the country farm. The adult female roundworm in a dog's intestine can release as much as 200,000 eggs per day, and many of these animal parasites are just as content with a human host. Unwashed vegetables, improperly cooked meat, uncovered sandpits and the habit of walking barefoot through the streets, paddocks or fields leave many risks for parasite infection to the point that it is not rare for us to confront several cases per day. Parasites can be as small as yeast infections (termed Candida) or amoebic such as giardia, a little larger such as thread or pin worms, as big as a large nail such as some of the round worms, or even up to 3 metres long such as the tape worm.

Myth #2 Alternative Remedies are Not as Effective as Pharmaceuticals
In our experience, many people have come in for a colonic after being diagnosed and treated for parasites by the medical system, only to have worms come out on the toilet after the colonic or the next day at home. There may be a few reasons for this; the treatment was ineffective and/or not taken long enough to kill off all the stages of parasites.
When parasites are killed, the eggs start to hatch and grow. At this point in the treatment it might seem like the symptoms are gone and all is well, but soon those eggs turn into adult worms and the whole cycle starts again. Therefore remedies used during this whole period of time must be toxic to the parasite and non-toxic to the patient and last at least 6 weeks to kill off all the stages; worms, eggs and worms before they mature and lay more eggs.

Myth #3 Symptoms are obvious, like ''Bali Belly''
The symptoms of parasites can have various effects, for example they can:
1. Cause damage by poisoning with their toxic waste (termed verminous intoxication), including introducing viruses and bacteria which literally "piggy back" on their bodies.
2. Rob us of certain nutrients, vitamins, and amino acids. Some worms feed on red blood cells. Drowsiness after meals is another sign of worm infestation.
3. Block or damage certain organs by clumping together in a ball.
4. Create physical damage by perforating the intestinal mucosa, lungs, and liver. Worms can literally make "Swiss cheese" out of your organs, including migrating to the top of the lungs, creating Asthma. Allergies can be the first reaction.
5. Can Cause Anaemia The the common worm infections directly causing anaemia include hookworm infection (Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale); whipworm infection (Trichuris trichiura); and schistosomiasis (Schistosoma mansoni, S. haematobium, and S. Individuals infected with worms may feel bloated, tired or hungry. They may have trouble thinking clearly, have gas, eczema, or asthma and feel generally toxic.

If they are children, they may exhibit "hyperactive behavior", have itchy bottoms and vaginas, may be anaemic, grind teeth and be restless at night, particularly during the full moon. They may snore, have abdominal pain, diarrhea, lung infections, eye infections, blood sugar imbalances, weight loss and fatigue. One, some, or all of these symptoms may be present. In many cases, the adult individual may have developed a sort of co-existence where symptoms are not obvious or adequately diagnosed, and may experience anything from annoying seasonal hay fever, colds and flu to asthma and chronic fatigue. In some cases, worse diseases may follow. Parasites can be present in any disease and many individuals with parasitic infections are also undernourished and full of either viral, fungal, or bacterial infections, and may have various types of chemical and heavy metal poisoning. Viruses and Bacteria "piggy back" along with parasites so often times its these pathogens that cause the real problem and not the Parasite.
How to Get Them to Leave:

Just as we de worm our pets and live stock periodically, so should we de worm ourselves and family at least once a year. We have put together a comprehensive program to address both parasites and your elimination system. The herbal parasite cleanse insures all the worms and eggs are killed and getting colonics will make sure they are eliminated fully from the body as well as supporting your body's overall detoxifying system.

Herbal Parasite Cleanses - there are many great herbal parasite cleanses available. They should include wormwood, black walnut and clove. Apple Cider Vinegar and Probiotic Colonics- ACV enemas as part of colonics
may be one of the most effective remedies for getting rid of worms in the colon and releasing constipation so that parasite cleanses can be effective, giving the worms an exit from the body sot they can leave and not be trapped. If they do not have an exit, they may look for other outlets or just stay stuck and further poison your body! We have had clients see worms after getting an ACV enema with their colonic with us, one even had them come out at night and crawl all over the sheets! So this is very powerful for those parasites living in the colon. The probiotic colonic is great to do at the end of the parasite
cleanse to help support the good bacteria after getting rid of parasites and all the viruses and gut dysbiosis that associate with them.
